2nd Trimester

Am I being a total B!tch?

DH has a cast on his ankle from some torn tendons.  He can't work because of the nature of his job, so he lays (not sit, lay) on the couch all day, he dozes all day, and then wants me to entertain him all night.  I have two kids, and babysit a three year old 4 hours of the day.  I have a schedule, and a life.  I do things a certain way, and I don't see why I should have to change that schedule to accomidate him.  He can get around.  He isn't in any pain.  He will get up, go outside, hang out on the porch, walk through the kitchen, sit back on the couch and ask me for a drink.  It really annoys me. Especially at night.  I am up and hardly even sit down from 6:30-7:00am until 7-8 pm every day, when my kids go to bed at 6:30, I am done chasing after people, and I feel that just because he feels like being lazy all day and doesn't want to start his day until 4-5pm, I shouldn't have to spend the rest of my evening running after him too.  I hope at least a little of this made sense, and thanks for those who made it through the whole thing.

  • tell him he can get off his lazy ass to get what he wants and that is what crutches were invented for.

  • I was thinking the same thing, he is looking at me like he is paralized from the neck down while I roll myself off the chair (big belly) to get him a refill on his drink.  And who would be taking care of the kids if I had a cast?  Not him, he would go to work, and assume that if I couldn't handle it  myself I would take it upon myself to find someone to help me.  I could go on and on.

  • Um, I would be mad too.  If he can move around (which it seems that he can) then he can take care of himself.
