OMG, my vaccum just packed it in...

in 2nd Trimester

And I'm a huge vacuum addict so it's been 20mins and I'm already losing it. I really don't want to drop $700 right now, but I think Dyson's have lifetime warranty, so maybe that can be my birthday present from DH. Tongue Tied This one is 5 years old, so both the man and extended warranty are up but it would be $450 to replace it. Who has a dyson? Is it worth the massive price tag?

    I love my Dyson!  I also got it on sale (about $380 and it was originally $600).  I've had it since last December and it handles the fur of 2 cats, 2 dogs and 2 shedding human heads beautifully.  And like the commercials say, it hasn't lost suction.  With all those pets I killed a vacuum almost every year so I'd say it was worth the $$.

    My sister has one and LOVES it - she has a yellow lab, a jack russel mix, and 4 kids.  She doesn't have the huge upright one, she has one that pulls along behind the vaccuum, so it wasn't $700 to buy it.

    We have a Dyson as well, it's a 5 year warranty on all parts.  I love it so much!!  We got ours (the purple ball) for 340 on sale. 

    We also killed a vacuum a year and at 100 bucks a pop this made more sense.  Plus, the filter is washable, you never have to buy them.

    my parents have a dyson and i liked it when i was at still at home. I have a kirby now and it doesnt move as well as the dyson and have disposable bags

    go with the dyson ....is worth it

    We have a dyson and it is pretty awesome. You should look for a coupon for bed bath & beyond or when it goes on sale at target. I bought mine for like $299 or something because I got it on the day after Thanksgiving (black friday was worth it last year!). also check some places on line, a lot of electronics shops online (via Amazon) will ship for free.

    Both my parents and I had the Dyson Animal.  I got mine in 2006, my parents had theirs in 2005.  They both had suction problems and got to the point they wouldn't pick up anything.  My parents had their motor replaced twice and mine had been rebuilt a few times.   I moved on.   It was great at first but didnt' last.   Not worth the price tag!

    I have bad allergies and really wanted a Dyson but couldn't pay that much.  I found mine on Craigslist (the yellow one).  A girl got it as a wedding present but did not want it and needed money more.  It was brand spanking new, still in box, taped shut with Macy's shipping label still on it.  I got it for $100.  It was soo easy to put together and I was amazed how much more they actually pick up.  I would check your local craigslist and negotiate.  You never know you may get lucky like I did.

    Yes do it!!  We have the purple ball animal dyson and it is AMAZING the amount of hair that things sucks up!  Found it on CL for $200 almost brand new.

    Dysons are WAY worth it. The sales dude at my friendly BBB said we shouldn't buy the Animal version, because it's the same as the regular version with an extra hookup thingy (for $100 more). We have the old school yellow one and it's the shiz. I got it on woot.com for cheap...I think it was $189 but I could be wrong.

    I have to confess, I have two full size Dyson and one little hand held Dyson. I have two huge Mastiffs and I couldn't live without the dysons!!  I got the second because I was too lazy to drag the vacuum upstairs so I have an upstairs and a downstairs one.  It's pitiful I know but I LOVE it!  So they're TOTALLY worth the extra money girl, go for it!!!
