This topic came up in our house and I don't think we will. We will certainly tell her that conceiving was difficult and she was loved and wanted long before we ever got that + on the HPT, but the details about the method and $$ cost may get left out. I will certainly make sure she is tested for my clotting disorder, but since we're MFI, I think that's about as far as we'll go.
Just my thoughts. What do you think you'll do?
Re: Will you tell LO/LO's re details of IF?
:::visiting from IF:::
Yes we will. We have the DS part to discuss with them and then we want them to know about how they were conceived. Also our child will have all the preconception b/w not invasive testing done somewhere between 16-18 yrs old. I don't want my child(ren) going through life thinking everything is hunky dory and then have IF dropped on them like we did. If they have any IF issues I want them to know at a young age so they can plan for it.

DS-IUI #1-4 BFN IVF #1 - BFP! It's a boy!!!
Being a child of an IF couple, and having IF myself, we'll definitely tell our kids. My mother told me about her struggles, starting when I was young and telling me stories like "we tried and tried and tried and finally we had you", and progressing with more details when I got older.
I think our kids should know how much we wanted them, and what we went through to have them.
Unexplained Infertility
After two Clomid cycles, three injectable IUI cycles, two IVFs, two miscarriages, and one lap surgery, IVF #2 has brought us our little boy!
TTC #2
After months of being postponed or cancelled, FET #1.3 (Natural FET) brought us twin girls!
Yes, we will for sure. I don't think I would be able to keep it from them. I will always tell them I loved them so much when they were still just a twinkle in our eyes and that we both went through a lot to have them. I also might joke around when they are getting ready for college that they will have to pay for it themselves because we spent that money on bringing them into the world.
I want to be careful the way I do talk about it though. I don't want them to think just because we had a hard time they will as well. Or they might not be as careful with protection if they are messing around in there teens and I will have a pg teen on my hands. And boy will that make me mad lol.
