I have been transitioning back to work (3 days a week, 4 hours per day) to get DD used to day care, but next week will be increasing to 4 days per week, 6.5 hours per day soon and I am stressing out because sleeping is not going so well and I am soooo tired!
A friend recommended a sleep coach she used (her 7 month old was still getting up 4-5 time a night when she finally used them). She said the results were phenomenal and her son was sleeping 8 hours by day 3. Anyone ever use one or thinking of using one?
Re: Anyone use a sleep coach, or thinking about it?
Ehh I've heard of people using a sleep coach but it just isn't my thing. As much as I'd love to get more sleep and be more rested at work, I'm not one for training or scheduling babies this young. Anything I've heard from people who do any sort of sleep training or coaching generally involves things I'm not interested in doing (CIO, night weaning, formula, etc.).
That's pretty much what my son is doing right now. The past 3 nights he's done a 6 hr stretch at first, but then afterwards it's like 2-3 at a time until morning. I think when pedis say they "should" be able to go 6-8+ hrs it means that they may be physically able to, although that varies baby to baby and is even less likely if EBF. But it does not necessarily mean that they are emotionally ready. Many, many babies do not sleep 6-8 hrs for a looooong time. And honestly, many babies who do sleep that long at a young age regress a few months later so you just never know.
