  • I think my dh would really think I moved him into the country if he saw that. He grew up in the city and when we first started dating he was amazed at how many deer we had by my house.

  • Wow. When I was growing up, a sort of distant neighbour had an exotic animal farm. Every now and then you would see a baboon running down the road. It was the strangest thing.

  • Once when my parents were in Singapore there peacocks walking around this once place they were visiting, well my dad thought a good picture would be when the peacock opened it's fan. So my dad was standing there showing the peacock what to do with his hands on his a$$ if you can imagine that image.
  • Oh how pretty! We live out in the country and see all sorts of wildlife all the time...But nothing that pretty!

    I should've tried that!  Hee hee.  :)

I think this handsome boy belongs to someone nearby (faint memories of DH mentioning it once), but I sure wasn't expecting to see him going for a leisurely stroll down the street!  I hope he knows that people aren't always careful while driving down our little dirt road...

Thank you, country girls, for making me feel like this maybe isn't so weird after all.  (Suburban NJ raised, here.)  Wish I would've thought to snap a picture of the soft-shelled turtle I saved from the road the first week we were here!  Maybe Animal Planet will give me my own show.  ;)

Stay tuned for future wildlife updates...

  • Last summer some bison got out of the bison farm nearby and one walked by our kitchen window. Kind of thought I was hallucinating!
  • That's sooo beautiful.  Are you sure you're not Hugh Hefner's neighbor?
