Natural Birth

???Natural Birth Due-Date Check-In???

This is the first check-in since I've taken over so I apologize if any of the info was lost or scrambled in translation but I think it's good. Smile  As for the QOTW, I'm very uncreative but hopefully that improves over time, lol.  And now I'm just going to shut my eyes, click "Post" and hope the format turns out right.

Here's your weekly due date check-in. If you'd like to be added, post below with your EDD, place of birth, birthing method and team (green, blue or pink). Let's get to know each other better!

QOTW: Those of you in maternity clothes, what is your favorite, go-to, no-fail article of clothing?

Give us any other updates, news or random thoughts you?d like to share!

Re: ???Natural Birth Due-Date Check-In???

  • I am currently in the dreaded "in between" phase: Too small for maternity clothes, too big for regular pants and button-up shirts, lol.  Right now, I'm just relying on my Bella Band!  One of the greatest purchases I've ever made.

In other news, I'm pretty sure I've started feeling faint flutters already.  Of course, I can't officially count it until I get a good, strong kick, lol.  I'm picky.  I hope everyone had a great weekend!

  • I like the colors - that's fun!

My favorite maternity clothing with DS was my Motherhood Bermuda shorts...and they were white, of all things! The other thing I loved was this maroon dress that was Jersey knit....so comfy!

I have never really completely gotten out of mat. clothes, so I'm still enjoying some of my old faves, and excited to have MIL take me shopping next month for new stuff (since it is the complete opposite season)!

The Knot won't share my Bump Siggy, so here's the low-down: 4/27/07 - Got engaged! 8/31/08 - Got married (to my best friend)! 12/30/08 - Got Pregnant! 9/3/09 - Welcome to the world, Elias Solomon! 8/16/10 - Got Pregnant, again! 5/14/11 - Welcome to the world, Talia Hadassah! 1/14/12 - Ready or not, here comes #3 (EDD 9/27/12)
  • Wow! The new check-in is so colorful! I love it!

QOTW: My ON tops are my favorite at the moment. I only have 1 pair of jeans that fit (and they don't fit that well) so I'll be going shopping to buy at least one more pair. Hopefully I won't need them for too much longer!

I like my t-shirts from Motherhood and my full panel shorts and capris.  I can even squat relatively easily in them for when I have to pick things up off of the floor. Denim is not my friend though.

  • Love the new format!

QOTW:  I'm not in maternity clothes yet unless I run out of clean clothes!  :)  However, last time I loved my ruched shirts from Motherhood b/c they were so soft and lasted until 41w.

  • Awesome job!  Thanks for taking over :)

QOTW: I am reusing maternity clothes from my last pregnancy - but all I had were summer things.  I bought a pair of maternity jeans from the Gap which I love, and I guess I'll be living in them pretty soon, since they're the only pair of maternity pants I have.  Also bought a few long-sleeved tops and a white cardigan that isn't maternity but is very drapy and will work post-partum too.  Looking forward to busting that one out as soon as fall ACTUALLY arrives (it was in the upper 90s here last week ...)

  • QOTW:

Blerg! I have a self-style blog and I've been having the most difficult time dressing this bump of mine. I am living in a Motherhood leopard dress that's ruched on the top and find that I look/ feel best in sundresses paired with a belt right below the bust.

  • Can I be added please? Smile bonniebelle101, due Feb. 23rd, hospital birth, hypnobabies, we have our big ultrasound on Friday so we'll hopefully find out the sex then.  Thank you!!

Right now I'm loving two pairs of maternity jeans a friend gave me. They have a short zipper and button in the front but elastic in the back. They are fitting beautifullly right now since everything seems to be either too big or two small. I have a feeling the button won't be comfy for too much longer, but for right now they are my go-to pairs of paints!

  • QOTW: I have been in maternity pants since 8 weeks due to the mega bloat this little one has inflicted upon me Embarrassed.  I am currently loving all of the pants I have gotten from Motherhood Maternity.  They give me the comfort I need on top, but still make my butt look pretty amazing :)

  • Love the new format!

QOTW: I'm still in my regular Gap jeans (they have a lot of stretch), but I just bought a pair of Heidi Klum Skinny jeans from Motherhood that are so cute and comfy I think I'm going to live in them until DD comes.

  • i'd like to be added too!! EDD 11/26, hospital, team blue!! planning a water birth.

QOTW since the mornings are starting to get cooler i've been loving my long wrap-around sweater from motherhood. i've also been living in a pair of cargo capris that roll down into full pants. the band at the top isn't too tight but it keeps them in place, unlike the mat jeans i got in the beginning that just don't fit anymore.

  • QOTW: I absolutely LOVE these pants and will be sad when I have to stop wearing them: https://www.motherhood.com/Product.asp?Product_Id=905450048&MasterCategory_Id=MC5
  • Congrats to all the new mommas!  I love the new look too -- thanks for taking over. :)

QOTW: I *heart* my Gap Long and Lean demi-panel maternity jeans.  I've worn them since I was like 14 weeks and they are awesome.

  • My exciting (for me) update is that the u/s technician showed us that Bugbear has hair! And since I was really bald, and didn't have my first haircut until I was close to 5 years old, this is super exciting to me.

I love dresses. I don't have one go-to piece, but I do love the way I can still manage to feel good about myself in something simple and femme. I'm sad about fall, though, since it's going to make it a lot harder to be cute for the next few months.

  • Hi!  I've responded to posts a few times but never did the check in:

My EDD is Dec. 8, hospital, it's a boy

My got-to clothing has been the pair of black ON gauchos I got this summer but I think they'll have to be retired soon.  They're getting a little tight in the hips and it's (hopefully) going to get cool here soon.

    image   image

  • Thanks for taking over the check-in, looks great!

QOTW: Sadly, even my go-to tops are starting to get too small! I've had to start layering long tanks under about everything if I don't want my belly peeking out. I have a couple of calf-length skirts that I adore - they aren't maternity but they have elastic waist bands & sit perfectly below my belly. Now I just need it to stay warm here for another couple weeks so I can keep wearing them - I'm not a huge fan of the 2 pairs of maternity jeans I own.

  • This is cute! I love the birth month titles!

I have a plain white shirt that I love because of the way it "holds" my bump.

Had an appointment 9/17 and the baby is head down, so that's one less "complication" I have to contend with.

Unfortunately, our Bradley classes were not a good fit for us. We quit going a couple of weeks ago. We took some other classes that have combined several methods that we've really gotten a lot out of. But, I absolutely love Natural Birth the Bradley Way. I'm an accountant, so the step-by-step of that book was great for me!

Hope you all are doing great!

  • Please add me as well:

     Firedancer1013 ? Feb 11 ? Hospital ? Hypnobabies

My fav maternity clothing item is the thermal tops from Old Navy, it's getting colder here, and as it does, I just want something warm, I have 3-4 colors of the same shirt :)

  • QOTW: Those of you in maternity clothes, what is your favorite, go-to, no-fail article of clothing?

My maternity jeans. They are DUO brand from JCP and they were half the price of the maternity store jeans. They are comfy and make my butt look great. :)  Other than those, I have some great little dresses from Motherhood Maternity that are comfy and easy to wear.

I have been on diaperswappers more than here lately...sorry ladies! I am still doing well, and our little boy is kicking the mess out me on an hourly basis. DH finally felt him move. :) He cried. I am getting bigger now and really enjoying the pregnancy.

  • QOTW:  I have the most comfy long sleeved tee hoodie (from Motherhood Maternity, I think?) that I LOVE to wear with yoga pants.  Seriously, I would wear them both every day if that weren't disgusting.  :-D

    JulietBair ?October 7th ?Hospital

I would say my favorite maternity item is my Gap jeans.. They have a full panel with dark wash, so they don't make me feel quite so huge at this point.. = P

  • StellarStina26 ? March 5th ? Hospital ? Bradley

I am Team Green until October 21st when I hope to find out.

I love my stretchy gaucho pants and go in public often wearing them.  Somehow I just don't care about make-up or clothes anymore.  I just like being comfortable.

Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • Love the new format with colors!!!  See, you *are* creative :)

Dresses feel best on my stomach -- even wearing the under the belly pants gives just enough pressure to cause acid reflux for me.  But I only have a few of these, and they aren't as comfortable on hot days with a lot of walking cause my thighs rub :(  So on hot days, I have a pair of under the belly jeans that are nice and comfy - and amazingly the maternity tops I got at target are more comfortable and stylish than the ones I have from the expensive maternity stores.

  • Could November and December get a cute name too?  November Harvest Babies and December Delights or something?

I'm hanging in there - lots of appointments (perinatologist every other week, MW on the weeks I don't see the peri, endocrinologist once a month, chiropractor 3x/week, etc).  I had my endo appointment today and that went well.  I'll get my bloodwork results tomorrow or the next day - hopefully that's all good too.  The peri is already telling me the baby is "big" which annoys me.  I wish they wouldn't do size sonos at all.

Things with the MW are going great.

QOTW: I go to my maternity jeans and a (maternity) t-shirt most days, but over the summer I loved my ankle-length Old Navy dress that actually isn't maternity :)

  • I'd like to be added!

My EDD is May 11, I will be having a home water birth, and as of now we are team undecided!  Stick out tongue

QOTW: Those of you in maternity clothes, what is your favorite, go-to, no-fail article of clothing?

It was these grey, thin pants--cool enough for the summer and keeping sun and bugs off, warm enough to keep the fall breeze off. But, the expanding belly isn't working too well with them right now. [;(]

  • QOTW: Right now it's my ON fold-over jersey skirt. That thing is so dang comfortable. It feels like pajamas but looks legit for work too. The two pairs of maternity pants I bought didn't fit, so I'm waiting on replacements. I really hope they come in on the mail plane tomorrow :-)

  • Hi

I'd like to be added: EDD 4/8/11, team green, hospital birth

    Thx

Three angel babies...I think it's time for a change
  • QOTW: Those of you in maternity clothes, what is your favorite, go-to, no-fail article of clothing?

Well, I'm actually impressed how many of my non-maternity items I'm loving.  It helps that this is baby #2, so my clothes still fit a bit looser than they did before I got pg with DS (nursing boobs and a gradually fading belly inspired slightly looser tops).  I'm loving my favorite pair of maternity jeans from last time, and a non-maternity sweater that someone at work actually just gave me the other day.  I feel cute and a bit chic, which I'm sure will be harder to pull off later in pg.

Had a dentist appointment this morning and practiced my hypnobirthing breathing.  Baby decided to get a bit active for it and it was the first time I actually felt her/him from the outside.  Definitely a nice distraction from teeth cleaning!!  Now I have to try and replicate it at home so DH can feel it!

  • Can you add me too, please? May 7, Hypnobabies, homebirth, Team Green TWINS!

QOTD: Since this is my 2nd pregnancy (and it's twins), I'm already in maternity clothes... My favorites lately have been jersey/t-shirt material dresses from Motherhood (from my last baby). So comfy and soft!

  • My favorite maternity clothes are my leggings. I bought them in a size L from Target and they fit great rolled down under my belly. I can wear them to transition to fall weather - they go great under dresses!
  • QOTW: My "go to" maternity outfit is my gray yoga pants from Gap Body, a Hanes thin racer-back sports bra, and a ribbed tank from Motherhood Maternity.  That outfit never fails to feel amazingly comfortable.

I'm registered at the hospital birth center for my waterbirth, so I'm really looking forward getting myself mentally prepared!  I have my 32 week appt tomorrow, and a follow-up u/s to check my placenta next week.  I am going to ask my midwife about seeing a chiro for the Webster technique since my doula recommended it.  I'm also getting my flu shot tomorrow... ugh.

    Have a good week ladies!
