Mompetitors?

I wasn't sure if this was brought up, but I went a few pages back and didn't see it mentioned...

What are your thoughts?  I never really considered myself a "mompetitor," but DH and I do some of the things mentioned in the video.  Hmmm...

    This is hilarious! And I do several of the things mentioned, but I don't think that's the only right way, so I don't think that I'm a mompetitor. 

    Either way, it made me laugh, so thanks :)

    While yes, we do some of the things the "mompetitor" talks about, I'd like to think I don't approach other moms in that way. I try to not come off as "my way is better than yours" and really only talk about our choices if I am directly asked about them. I think. I hope. 

    I cracked up at that video, though. ;)

    I have to say, when people talk about using disposable diapers,  in my head I do think "oh, a baby seal just died", but I keep it in my head. 

    I love that video, but I am totally the blond mom in my head.

    This.  I honestly couldn't care less what other people do, so I would be a little upset if someone perceived me as a mompetitor because of the things that DH and I do.  I guess you can find judgment on both sides of it, so I just try to mind my own business.

    I'd like to think that most of us are somewhere in-between, but I've unfortunately had too much experience interacting with the "blonde mom" types in this yuppie area.

    I do some of the things mentioned to, but the difference between myself and the "mompetitor" is I'm not constantly trying to one up other parents that I meet with how much better my parenting philosophies and skills are than them. Heck, I'm the first to admit that half the time, I have no clue what I'm doing!

    Dying.  Laughing.  That made my night!!!

    We do all of the things the blond mom mentioned...we just don't tell anyone about it!  One of the reasons I'm on this board is that it's my forum to talk about those things...I don't ever want to come across the way Blond Mom does, so most people don't know that we cosleep, EC, plan to do extended bf, etc.  Of course I'll tell them when it comes up, but I don't shove it in people's faces.
