DD went through a period of hating the stroller after she started walking. However, now at age 2, she seems to have gotten over it and will gladly sit in it if we walk a lot. I'm wondering at what age your kids stopped riding in the stroller. I'm not sure if I'll need a double stroller when DC #2 gets here. DD will be almost 3 at that point. Too old for a double stroller?
Re: Strollers
F walks the majority of the time but it is convenient for us to walk to the park or down to the beach. When it's just DD2, I take off the seat so it's a single.
We're doing a nanny share and the other child is 7 months. We ended up getting the Joovy Caboose Ultralight: https://www.joovy.com/pages/pd_cabooseultralight.php. It's a sit and stand, but not nearly as bulky as some of the other models. It's the only one that would fit in the trunk of our nanny's car, the other's are just too big.
We found ours on Craigslist, because they are a little pricey new, at least for the purposes of a nanny share. The only bad part is that we didn't get the 2010 model. Good luck!
ETA: The Britax B-Ready looks awesome!
When I had my little girl, my son was a little over 2..I got a double stroller and used it maybe 3 times...
So, I sold it on Craigs list and bought the joovy caboose sit and stand, and love it! It is super light, and the boy (who is now 3) can climb in or out without a whole lot of drama....BTW, the standing part in the back for him also has a seat so he can still sit.
The only thing I noticed when looking at the sit and stands is a teeny basket....
