So I get to my appointment on time, go back and get undressed and sit and wait for Doc. Just like last time with this particular Doc, 30 minutes later I'm STILL waiting!!! Having all that time to get increasingly irritated I was about ready to go in the hallway and make a scene, lol. so when she finally comes in she says very casually "sorry for the wait" like it's no big deal, I responded "No no take your time, I love sitting here on this table with no back rest, half naked with a paper sheet!" She had a blank stare and I immediately followed it up with "Sorry it's the hormones talking", and she said "well sorry about that".
LOL - I don't feel bad at all either - they are the ones getting paid the big bucks - why can't Docs be on time!!!?
Re: I snapped at my Doc this am, lol
Exactly.
And 30 minutes reallly isn't that bad in the grand scheme of things.
That's hilarious!
Unable to even.

Same here... I lay back and read! Though I agree, it would be nice if someone told me so I could go sit in the chairs!
ALL of this! I chose a dr. that is the only one in the practice bc if possible, I would like to be the #1 priority during my scheduled appt. time. If that does not end up being the case, I know why and of course that is MORE than alright with me. (I mean, if I were in an emergency situation or in labor, I'd expect my dr. to be tending to my needs, as I am sure you would.) So, next time you're waiting and getting frustrated, please keep in mind that you are not the only patient and someone may be in need of urgent medical attention and that it will not kill you to be a little more patient and respectful.
Last week I waited over 45 minutes. The nurse came in at one point and explained that the patient that my doc was seeing was "complicated". When my doc finally came in, he had obviously been crying. I can only imagine what the woman who was in front of me had just been through. I had a long list of things I wanted to basically complain about to my doc, but the whole situation really put things into perspective for me. I was happy to be waiting, happy to be sleepless, uncomfortable and all the rest of my complaints because my little guy was still in there, healthy as can be. I'm totally not trying to be a *** about this, but the reality check I got at my last appointment really woke me up to some things...
WORD!
For me it would depend on whether or not that was a pattern of their behavior.
Emergencies happen, but if they happen EVERY time that you're at a scheduled appointment then something is wrong.
And like PP said, my doc can't be delivering a baby and scheduled to see me at the same time. There are four OBs in the practice so they all do different things on different days. The largest issue for me is that I work a day job so I'm scheduling my visits during work days. I need a prompt office so *I* can be prompt in my office.
