I was induced with my first so not sure if this is something to get excited about or not. Any input based on your experience or what you've read would be appreciated! I'm not worried that something's wrong or I'd call my OB... just trying to see if today (or tomorrow) may be the day ![]()
I went to OB yesterday was 3cm dialated and effaced (didn't give % but she said the baby's head was right there and she could touch it). I've had high BP issues so she scheduled me for induction this Thursday - Sept 30th when I will be 39weeks since my cervix was favorable. I left the office and said a prayer that God let me go natural before Thursday because I really really really don't want the pitocin again because it was a horrible experience with DS and I'm scared of it again, scared of winding up with csection, scared of pain and tearing again...
Hopefully not TMI... Woke up last night with diarrhea. This morning I got up to go to the bathroom and there was some brownish discharge (bloody show?), my back is hurting - dull and achy a little bit and I have what feels like period cramps but not on and off like I remember pitocin contractions feeling like. I never experienced un-pitocin related contractions but one of my friends said they start out feeling like period cramps. Went pee again and more brownish discharge (not a lot, but enough to be noticable). DD is moving around but not as much as usual.
So what do you think? I know early labor can take forever... Do you think that's what I'm experiencing? Any description of un-pitocin related contractions that I can compare what I'm feeling to? I would be super happy if she decided to come today, but not til after my 1:00 nail appointment cause I don't wanna go into labor with ghetto nails!!! ha ha
What kinda example would that be setting for DD?!
Re: Early Labor? What do you think?
DD #1 passed away in January 2011 at 14 days old due to congenital heart disease
DD#2 lost in January 2012 at 23 weeks due to anhydramnios caused by a placental abruption
I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.

Def sounds like early labor to me! The period-like cramps are all I felt after my water broke until they gave me pitocin. Also--if you were already at 3cm dilated, then you're almost out of early labor anyway so it may not be too much longer!!!

Thanks for all the responses!! I made it through the nail appointment so my nails are did up all pretty and I'm ready to go. Woohoo!
Back pain is definitely increasing. I was going to go for a walk, but my man reminded me how bad the night nurses were in L&D when we were in for high BP saturday night/sunday morning so I think I'm going to plant myself on the couch and relax and hope she stays in until sometime tomorrow after 7am when the shift changes!
