On Friday, my doctor sent me to the hospital for pre-e monitoring. I had a 7 pound weight gain in 2 weeks, 138/87 blood pressure, seeing stars, swelling, etc. Well, my bloodwork came back good and they sent me home. Today, I feel awful again...hot flashes and out of breath. The school nurse (I teach) checked my blood pressure and I'm 139/90. What would you do? Can your bloodwork change within just a few days? Or am I just having a crappy day?
Re: What would you do?
On a friday I was in L&D for BP monitoring returning a 24 urine jug, severe headache. I was given percoset or something like that for the headache and told my protein was NO WHERE close to pre-e. It was a trace amount of protein.
Monday morning, worset headache, more swelling, seeing stars again. My home bp was 175/103. My friend who is an L&D nurse came over because I was fighting going back to L&D because I felt stupid. She checked my bp herself and looked at my swelling and sent me straight back to L&D. My BP was through the roof and my protein was well over 700. Diagnosed with pre-e. I was admitted and put on magnesium sulfate, and was on bedrest for the next 10 days until I was induced.
IT CHANGES VERY QUICKLY. Trust me.
