dilation in reverse? who knew?

so my visit to the MW yesterday was pretty much a fail. She said she isnt sure how it happened but i am dilated LESS than I was last week...WTF is that? She also told me that she messed up the dates and that she wasnt going to be in town the day of my induction. :( And did I want to reschedule or have Dr H do it. Well everything is already set for next Wednesday so I agreed to have the DR do it. Not without some unsolicited tears. So as I was standing at the check out counter getting my card for Tuesday's appt she comes up and says: "I dont usually do this, but I was supposed to come back on Wednesday morning anyway so I will come back Tuesday night so I can be here to deliver the baby on Wednesday....just dont go in at 6 a.m." I LOVE HER!!!!

    Never heard of anything like that, but I'm a newb to this mommy stuff!

     

    And awww, LB! That was awfully sweet of her! October 6th is still the plan then!

    But at least you get to have your doctor deliver LO!  That doc would get huge brownie points in my book :).

    when i was there last week she said I was close to 2cm. Yesterday she said I was closer to one? Maybe she used a different finger? LOL Yeah I am STOKED that she will be there now. I am not a fan of the Dr in that office although I went into it knowing there was a possibility he may have to deliver me.

    I know the baby will move down and then back up, but I thought that was much later in the process! Weird. 

    That's awesome of her to come back! Crap, it's in stone LB!! This is all too much for me.

    I just read about this last night!  According to Ina May's Guide to Childbirth, it's totally possible for a cervix to "undilate."

    craziness I tell you. I dont know if he just moved and let pressure up off my cervix or what he is doing in there. I am thinking she was just off last week. Who knows...either way this guy is coming out Wednesday!

    Crazy that you had reverse dilation , I have also never heard of it . I am happy for you that you get you doc to deliver LO. I am sure that makes you feel so much better !

    LOL I was totally going to say something like that.  He' like, get that shiti figured out mom and dad, or I'm not going anywhere!

    Oh that's so awesome that she did that! How sweet. And I dilated less with DD. (But it was a good thing for me.) I dilated at 25 weeks to 1cm and after taking Procardia and being on strict bedrest, I closed back up around 30 - 33 weeks. It was weird lol. But OMG you're having him next week!!!! With MissNikki and you I'm gonna be glue to thebump this week and next lol!
