Cue Snooki whine... waaaaaaaah

I am so angry. If I ovulate around day 20 this cycle and next (I o'd on day 21 last cycle) I'm going to have my period on our trip to Cuba Crying

I doooonn't waaaannaaaaa. I hope my body cooperates and realizes it shouldn't torture me. How am I supposed to spend the day on the beach if I have to keep changing my tampon all day?! And I'm already a lightweight... I'll be drunk off half a drink if my ute is exploding.

ARGH.

    If that is what is going to happen (your period on your trip) you might want to invest in a Diva Cup. I have been using one for over a year now and they are awesome! Every 12 hours, you take it out, clean it up and re-insert it into your body. It is made of medical grade silicone so it is completely safe! You could put it in in the morning, and then take it out and clean it up at night in the shower, then clean it up again in the morning when you get up. Super simple and easy, as long as you aren't squeemish about stuff like that.

    I second the Diva Cup. I think it's been one of my favorite purchases ever. Even if you're squeemish at first, I think it's easy to get over.

    Oh that sounds like a great idea!!! I might try it out. Is there any way it could potentially leak and would it be okay for being in the pool?

    As long as the cup opens completely in your vag, there is no leakage, no spotting, no nothing!! It is amazing. You can use it for spotting before your period starts and during your period. Once you get it in place, and you continue to insert and remove it, eventuallly there will not even be any blood on your fingers. It is wonderful!!! A tip though if you buy one, cut the little nubbin off the bottom, you don't need it, and it will only irritate you from the inside out. But you will be safe to go in the pool, hot tub, ocean, public shower...anywhere! It won't slip or shift like tampons either. Ever get that pinching feeling with a tampon...no longer girlfriend!!! Stick out tongue This is the ticket!

    SOLD!!!

     I am so ordering one!! I would love to not use tampons ever again. And the $40 is worth it - even if I only use it for the trip haha.

    I heard about it from some of the ladies on the Babies on the Brain board. There are lots of different "cups" from different manufacturers, but this is the one that I chose and I love it! I gave my 14 year old niece all of my tampons since this is all I need anymore.

    The one thing I would say is that it does take some getting used to. I leaked my first time using it, because I had it in incorrectly (if you use it right it won't leak at all).

    I hope you'll have an awesome trip, even if your ute doesn't cooperate.
