Head dropped! To early?

Just got home from the doctors and he says the baby is big for where she should be right now and that her head has dropped since 2 weeks!

I am only 29 weeks tho, ill be 30 weeks on thursday. Anyone else's baby already dropped around my "weekly age"?!

Re: Head dropped! To early?

  • I dropped at 32 weeks, which I thought was kindof early. THis is my first rodeo though so maybe not???

  • I was wondering when it's supposed to happen. Mine is high...playing in my ribs like it's a jungle gym. Her head is still up, too. I'm 31 weeks today. Uterus is measuring ahead by two weeks, baby is measuring 31 weeks. Been asking myself when she's going to flip, too.
  • most doctors don't worry about position until 35-36w.  baby still has plenty of room to change positions often before that point.  by 36w things are more cramped so the baby is less likely to flip flop, however it is not impossible for a baby to change positions after that.  i dropped around 32w and baby has stayed there thank goodness.

  • I dropped around 30 weeks, but the baby flipped back over, and then dropped again. Enjoy the extra stomach room while you have it!!

  • Babies move up and down and even flip completely before 35 weeks. I wouldn't take it as a sign of anything. Even once the baby really drops into position, it doesn't mean labor is imminent.
