Is this normal? I've been reading about everyone else already having theirs and mine is scheduled for October 20th. Diabetes runs in my family on my mom's side so do you think I should call and try to get in earlier? Just seems late to me.
My doctor says he wants them done "by 28 weeks" - mine hasn't been scheduled yet, I assume I'll schedule it when I go to my next appt (I'll be 25 weeks then) - so I'm guessing it'll be sometime between 25-26 weeks for me.
If you are unsure or uncomfortable, call and ask - but they know your medical history and if they were overly concerned, they would have scheduled it sooner.

Mine is about the same time as yours. And I too heard from 24-28 weeks is the norm. This is my second and both have been done around the same tie which is 28 weeks. Diabetes runs in my family as well.
My doc won't do it until 28 weeks. I haven't even made my appointment to do it yet, and won't until my 26w appointment on 10/13... so I'm guessing it'll be around 10/27 or so.

Yes, I think that is normal. One of the nurses was trying to schedule me for GTT at 28 weeks yesterday, till the other one told her I didn't need it since I was insulin dependent diabetic.
I asked my doctor about this yesterday since I was wondering the same thing. My next appointment is toward the end of October and I'll be 25-26 weeks when I get the test done.
The range according to my OB sheet is 24-28 weeks. I have mine this week, but I had the first one during my 1st tri. I am insulin resistant so my doctors have been testing me to be sure I don't have GD.
My test will be at 24 weeks but the norm for my OB's office is 28. The only reason why I am getting mine done so early is because I have an insulin resistance.
My OB's office does them at 28 weeks. I am nervous because my mom is pre-diabetic, my uncle has it, and my grandma had it. They're all type 2, but I worry that it is not going to help me! As my doctor said, I will do whatever it takes to keep her healthy. I just hope I pass the 1 hour and if necessary, pass the 3 hour test!

This. I was given a choice of taking the test either at 24 or 28 weeks. I'm doing it this Thursday.
This is what my MWs told me too. The only reason I already had mine (yesterday), is because I'm going out of the country for the next four weeks.
same here. my office always does it around 28 weeks
