Opinions Needed

Okay... So my doc called today to go over some questions with me about the whole preconception thing... I talked to her about my cycle being at 45 days and wanting to know what to do next. She said she wasn't an expert at the whole charting thing but advised me to take a HPT... My concern is that I'm pretty sure I haven't O'd yet and wondering if I should really waste the money and getting my hopes up when my chart is no where near pretty???

I looked at the chart, why wouldn't she have ovulated on CD15? I'm no expert and I'm still learning but CD15 looks like ovulation to me????

Personally I would that a pregnancy test esp. if my doctor recommended it.

I'm just so confused... She didn't see my chart but advised to take one and if nothing happens by mid October, make an appt.

The 15th to me was O day as far as I can see but since that first drop my temps have been all over the place.

You have not O'd yet. Take it from a girl who hasn't O'd since I started TTC.

The reason we can tell is there is no clear temp shift. Typically when you ovulate your temp will stay above a certain level. You don't have that. You can check out my charts. They are all over the place too. Also, I would suggest looking at some charts who have O'd. This might help you see the difference.

Saucy is right. You have not ovulated, because your temps have consistently gone below the high temp you've had on the 15th. If you had O'd, your temperatures after the 15th, would be above your coverline.

Also, your LP wouldn't make sense.

It could possibly mean that your body was preparing to O and then never did.

Ditto. It's hard to explain and better if you just read the book for full clarity.

FF doesn't always mark the temp drop as ovulation. It's not about the drop, it's about the rise. Sometimes this does correlate with when your temp drops the lowest, sometimes it doesn't.

I agree completely that it doesn't make sense... I just hate that for 10 days they were all above coverline then went crazy... It looked pretty before day 25 Smile

I just need to take some copies with me tomorrow and don't waste the money on a test. I felt the same way but she was persistent on taking the test.

It means that you haven't O'd yet. It means that FF thought you O'd but then, based on further data, it decided you did not.

You could definitely still O. I've seen it happen many times before to girls with long cycles. Don't lose hope!

Just wanted to add this: On FF, there is a "game" where you can guess O day or annovulatory based on the charts. When I first started charting and learning to read charts, this was very useful to me! HTH!
