I posted this on 6-9 but im really wanting to compare my schedule with others. Can you share your feeding schedule and naps, bedtimes? My boys are 6 months...I do bottles at
7, 11, 3, and 7, and stage 2 food at 8, 12, and 5. (fruit, veggie,
meat)... Also the boys sleep 7-7 and nap at 9, 1, and sometimes 4.
THANKS!!!
Re: anyone have 6 month olds?
My boys are 6 months old, but I am not sure how helpful I'll be... I am exclusively breast feeding, and they only get bottles when I am at work or out (and only one boy will take a bottle).
They also sleep about 7-7 at night, but are still waking up about once a night to eat, which we are trying to cut out.
They nurse when they wake up, at 7. They go down for the first nap between 8:30 and 9. I nurse them a little bit before the nap, too. They nap again around 1, and often don't take another afternoon nap but should!
The rest of their feedings are not scheduled at all, except that we have started solids at 6 pm just this past week. The pediatrician recommended we work in a 2nd meal of solids, maybe around breakfast but I am thinking lunch instead.
Frankly, your schedule sounds perfect, and I'm jealous! What are you worried about?
My guys are 6 months and we just started solids a few days ago ... still just rice cereal, only once a day. No set time for that yet. As for the rest:
8 oz bottles (7 oz for one of the boys) at 7 a.m., 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m., and 7 p.m. (Sometimes these times get pushed back between 30-45 minutes)
Naps at 9 a.m. (45 minutes-1.5 hours), noon (20 minutes-1 hour) and 2 p.m. (1.5-2.5 hours)
Bedtime at 7:30 p.m.
Wake between 5:30-7 a.m. (One of our guys wakes at around 5:30 and comes into bed with us and falls back to sleep, usually until 7. The other one generally sleeps in his crib until close to 7.)
My babies are six months... here's our schedule: eat at 8 (7 oz bottle), 12 (solids and 5.5 - 6 oz bottle), 4 (solids and 5.5 - 6 oz bottle) and 8 (6 - 7 oz bottle). They sleep from about 8-8 straight through the night. Naps are from apprx 9:30-11, 1:30-3 and most nights a small nap from 6-7.
We've only recently started solids other than cereal and this schedule is pretty new for us - our pedi okayed it - we do it this way because DD wasn't wanting to eat so soon again and they seemed to want to sleep longer. So far this is working well.
Mine will be 6 months in a week. We just started solids a week ago. We did a week of rice cereal, which they hated. Now we're trying oatmeal. We just do one feeding a day, but so far not at a set time (I just do it when they are calm enough!) For regular feedings, they are still eating about every 3 hours so - 6am, 9, 12, 3, 6, then a bottle before bed around 7:30 or so. My girls sleep from about 7:30-5:30 or 6am. They will wake occasionally during the night but never really to eat.
Unfortunately their nap schedule is so unpredictable still
I need to do a better job of tracking it and trying to get them on a better schedule.
My guys are almost 5 months- this is our schedule.
7am wake bottle (6oz)
9-11ish nap
11 bottle (6oz)
12-3ish nap
3 bottle (6oz)
6 bottle (6oz), rice cereal and stage 1 food
7:30 bath and bedtime bottle (4-8oz)
I think your schedule sounds perfect!
Mine are just over 7mths but this has been out schedule since about 5mths: times are apprx as wake up time sets our day.
btwn 5:30-6:30: 1st bottle (5-7oz)
8-9: 1st nap ( 45-1hr)
9ish: breakfast & bottle ( 30z & 1/2c oatmeal w/fruit (stage 2 container split between )
11ish - 2nd nap (1-2hrs)
1pm - bottle (5-7oz) ( will add a "lunch" meal this week of veggies)
1:30-3:30 - out of house/errands etc we go out every day anywhere I can think of to get them out of the house)
3ish ( short catnaps in the car 15-20min)
3:30 - bottle (5-7oz)
5 - dinner (rice cereal w/fruit or veg & sippy cup practice)
6 - bedtime bottle (7-9oz)
6:15-6:30 - bedtime DS sttn, DD is up once at 2am for "snack" (used to sttn, working on it!)
This sounds almost exactly what our are on. I wake up around 6 every morning to get ready for work, then I get the babies at 6:30ish. They eat around 6:45 or 7, then I take them to daycare. The rest of their day is as follows:
8:30 - rice cereal
9 - nap
11 - lunch (1 oz of puree) + bottle
12- nap
3 - bottle
4:30 - I pick them up and we go home
6 - sometimes they take a little cat nap
7 - dinner (2 oz. puree + 2tbsp. rice cereal); bath; bottle
7:30 - bed
They usually sleep the entire night, but sometimes one or both of them will get up briefly and fuss - one of us goes in and rubs a tummy or inserts a paci, but they usually go back down.
E usually wakes up around 5 am and "talks" to himself for about 15-20 minutes, then goes back to sleep.
When they're awake, they play - either on a walk, in their jumpers, hanging out on their blanket, or on their play mat. I've also started reading them books when I'm home with them (if they'll sit on my lap long enough for me to read them - they like to roll around everywhere now).
Hope that helps!
Mine are 6 months this is our schedule:
bottle around 6 am ( 6 oz-sometimes they dont drink it all)
short nap (usually 20 mins maybe, sometimes shorter or longer)
then they go to daycare at 8am and they get a bottle around 9am, baby food (fruit) at noon. 2 more bottles during the day. They take several naps at daycare of varying lengths whenever they want.
We pick them up at 5pm and they get a veggie baby food around 6pm, another bottle around 8 and they are in bed by 8:30 or 9pm.
I am wondering if I need to put them to bed earlier but they sleep through the night most of the time.
