A friend and I are having a friendly debate about the science behind X and Y swimmers. Since I BD'ed the day before and the day of ovulation, I told her I have a feeling my baby's a boy. She's a nurse, but she thinks the timing is irrelevant.
So, just for fun, for those of you who charted and have chosen to find out the gender of your baby, when did you BD in relation to ovulation, and did you conceive a boy or a girl?
Re: For those of you who charted: Gender Question
Er, I believe we BD all 3 days before O, day of O and both days after. I was using the CBEFM in addition to charting and we started when the High days started and went all the way through the Peak days and two days after.
We're having a girl.

BD? Oh you mean SEX??
I HAD SEX on the day of ovulation and I'm having a girl.
I believe this one was conceived on the day I ovulated, and I'm having a girl.
Sorry, I posted on Getting Pregnant on TN a lot and I still type "BD" out of habit.
This (in bold) but I'm having a boy.

While some studies have claimed one sex of sperm to be faster than others, it's really only a slight advantage--You get what you get! I would not get too hung up on one sex or the other.
Chart's in siggy--it's a girl.
Chart in siggy and we are having a girl. If people based it on assumptions, they might think I was 'supposed' to be having a boy.
It's all 50/50. I was happy either way.
We had sex 3 days before O and I'm having a girl.
I think the science is correct. Most X sperm swim slower and live longer; most Y sperm swim faster but die quicker. Not all sperm follow that rule, and there are many more factors involved in which sperm meets the egg. One can TTC a certain sex but there is absolutely no guarantee.
