Trying to Get Pregnant

Really want to POAS!

Talk me off the ledge, I know that I can't. I am about 9 DPO according to FF. I think I am 10 based on my OPK.. But! The last two mornings I have what I want to call morning sickness. I have not been sleeping well, and I have had night sweats.  Who would have thought waking up feeling like crap would be so exciting? Fingers crossed but being realistic. This is just round 1!

An another note, for those of you that get migraines. What were your tricks? I have in the past done a cocktail of drugs and I had one yesterday and was scared to take anything. I did end up taking 2 Tylenol. I know that my best bet is to talk to my doc, but I thought I would check!

 Happy Tuesday Ladies!

Re: Really want to POAS!

  • Save your test and wait a few more days. I tested at 10 DPO and it was negative and sort of disappointing. So save yourself the disappointment, enjoy the excitement of "I might be Pregnant" and just wait.

As for the migraines, I take a super cold can of pop and place it on the back of my neck where my head and neck meet. I lay an eye pillow scented with lavender over my eyes, and rub peppermint oil on my temples and on the back of my neck. All of this while laying flat on the bed with soft white noise from the box fan in the background. I usually fall asleep and it is gone when I wake up. granted this only works at home. If you are at work, try the can of pop thing by putting it on the back of your chair and scooch down in your chair a bit till it is on your neck, and tylenol. But the best cure is a nap.

  • Don't let the symptoms fool you! LOL wait at least a few more days, you really don't want to be let down by a BFN, even if you are KU. GL!

  • So I can't help with the POAS thing, because I am awful about waiting.  I haven't been charting though (this is month #7 of TTC, and I am starting to chart now), so I always trick myself into thinking it's later in the process than it really is.

I get tension headaches and I have one of those ice packs that is made from gel, I put it over my eyes and forehead and it helps tons!  You could also just use ice rolled up in a damp wash cloth.  Not sure if it would work the same way with a migraine, but it might be worth a try.
  • I get bad headaches/migraines all the time. Excedrin Migraine medicine usually does the trick...but if it is a really bad one the only way to get rid of it is to go to sleep.

  • I've still been treating my migraines with my prescription medicine though once we actually do get pregnant I'm not sure what I'll do since I get frequent migraines (at a minimum of two a week) and the meds are dangerous to a fetus. I do ice on my head, and heat on my neck. I try to get my DH to rub my neck and shoulders but he's not really good at it, but massage helps. Hot baths. Napping is a must, though sometimes it's hard to fall asleep when you hurt so bad but a nice quite dark rest is better then nothing. And I load up on caffeine. I know for some, caffeine can actually bring on a migraine or worsen it but for me I think it helps.

     Good Luck to you!

  • Thank you for all of the tips! I am hoping it is a rare occurance. I will have to try some of the hots and colds. I have heard about the oils too. Options are always good!!

I'll be fighting myself for the next couple days. I know it's a waste!
