DH and I are just starting our registry and I added the cheapest video monitor they had at Target to our list, but after I got home I found the reviews to be pretty awful. I checked out Babies R Us for the monitors and found many of them have pretty mixed reviews as well. We don't have any neighbors near, and the closest are older couples with no children so I'm not extremly worried about picking up other images.
Does anybody have personal ecommendations for video monitors for around or under $200? I'm trying to stick with models that can be bought in-store, because after my bridal shower I know most guests will not purchase online!
TIA!
Re: Video Monitor Recommendations?
I did a lot of research and this one got great reviews....we have it at home, tested it out (LO due in 4 weeks) and LOVE it!

I don't have personal experience, but I did just research the same item. Amazon has a lot of reviews so that's a good place to look. I ended up registering for the Philips Advent video monitor at BRU - https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4413393
I figured if I can use the completion discount (and hopefully a coupon) if we don't receive it as a gift.
Summer infant Best View- it pans and zooms, has night vision and works great (we are practicing using it in our 2 year olds room)! Diapers.com price matched from this store https://www.justkidsstore.com/prod/summer-infant/best-view-handheld-color-video-monitor and we got it for an amazing price and it was shipped next day!!
We have the summer best view and love it. They had it 20% off at target recently, so I got it then. I love that it can zoom in (I can see her breathing even) and I can move the camera from outside the room if she moves in her crib.
I read reviews on amazon.com and it had great ratings.
I have this one. I have been using it for 6 weeks now and am very happy with it. Sure the zoom and panning would be nice, but I am surviving fine without it. https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2265802
I love the Summer Infant Best View video monitor. The biggest selling point for me is that it's digital, so it has a more secure connection. I read some scary reviews about the Summer Infant Day & Night monitor. Apparently, if your neighbor has the same monitor they could see your baby.
