3rd Trimester

Well, hello! Someone wanted to say hi....

Hi ladies!

Short and quick synopsis of Kenley's arrival...Quinn went out the window after we met her.  She just wasn't a Quinn.

Okay, onto to the good part...Saturday morning I began contracting at 11 a.m. and after timing them for to hours, the remained steady at 5 minutes apart.  Went to L&D triage where they said even though I was dilated to 4 cm, my cervix wasn't changing with the contrax, so they couldn't do anything to help me progress.  And the breakdown of all breakdowns commenced....after eight weeks of hell and trying to keep the baby in there, she just wouldn't come out.

My body was exhausted, my mind was exhausted and I became that woman who went looney tunes in front of a hospital staff.  The doc finally took pity on me (after telling her I wasn't leaving without a baby) and gave me a shot of Demorol to help me sleep.  Maybe if they trank the crazy lady, she'll go away.

In any event, I did get some rest Saturday night, but since i was still contracting through the meds, a different doctor (and my savior) decided to augment labor and break my water, seeing as I dilated from 4 cm to 5 cm overnight.

So, Kenley Rae was born on Sunday at 8:33 p.m. after, get this: 5 hours of labor (well, 8 weeks and 5 hours) and 15 MINUTES of pushing.  I can't tell you how happy I was to have my baby girl in my arms after the ordeal I went through.  Truly awesome.

I quickly hopped on yesterday and wanted to thank everyone for the kind words and well wishes!  I read every single comment and am very grateful to have ladies like you in my life.  Thank you. :)

So here's a pic of our girl...one day old.
