Hooter Hiders! Get one if you plan to BF!

I bought a nursing cover from Target, but NEVER use it because is it's so clumsy and hot.  I can't see my son and help him get latched on plus the material doesn't breathe and there's no air flow.  It was a complete waist of money.  A friend recommended the Hooter Hider and I just ordered one.  I can't wait to get it and try it out.  I'm going back to work in a week and won't be breastfeeding as often after that, especially in public, so I totally wish I had one the last 11 weeks!  I hated having to leave the activity to go bf because I felt so secluded and like I was missing out, but I am too modest to do it in front of people.  (Posted this on 0-3 Months too)

Re: Hooter Hiders! Get one if you plan to BF!

  • I used a blanket with my DS...eventually he'd rip that off...by that time, we were good enough to BF without a cover and without exposing myself. It's all about picking the right clothes to wear...we nursed for 15.5 months and survived without a hooter hider.

  • Agreed! I loved my nursing covers! I bought one and had another a friend made for me and they were great. I tried the blanket thing at first, but could never get it to stay in place to where I was comfortable and felt modest enough. So it was definitely a worthwhile purchase for me :)

This. I always thought hooter hiders drew more attention than the nursing itself.

    Yes

Nothing says "I"M NOT NURSING UNDER HERE" like a giant piece of fabric, hee hee.

  • I loved my hooter hider and plan on using it again once this baby is born.  I don't really care if people know that I'm nursing.  Seems like common sense to me that I have to feed my baby.  I do care though if someone can see my exposed breast.  I tried to use a blanket with my first but it definitely moved around way too much.  The hooter hider stayed in place and I loved it.

True, but I don't care if people know that I'm breastfeeding under it.  I'm not trying to hide that fact, just trying to hide my boobs.  The blanket thing is too clumsy for me, always moves and falls off.  And for all the other posters who made rude/snotty comments:  sounds like your hormones are raging.
