Question about having membranes stripped...

How many cm. dilated do you have to be to have this done? I was 1 cm and "very" effaced at my appt. last Thurs.

I see no reason for a membrane sweep unless I am 40 wks with no progress. I see midwives, I highly doubt they would even ask...

I was 1cm and 50% thinned last week. If I don't have my LO by wednesday my dr might strip mine, only because I have GD and LO is measuring a little large. Other than that, they normally won't do it until you are past your due date. Im not looking forward to it, I would rather wait and let her come when she is good and ready but with the GD if I wait any longer I may not be able to deliver her and have to have a c-section(which I REALLY don't want) Hmm

I had mine done 3 times when I was pregnant with DD. The 3rd time she was born 8 hrs later. I was 3 cm when they did it.

I had an appointment at 1 cm and was told she couldn't get in there. The next week, I was still 1 cm but much softer so it worked that time. I was in labor early the next morning.
