Trying to Get Pregnant

semi-new.... hello!!

Hi all! So I guess you can consider me "semi new"I have been on here since Aug I think... but have really just been lurking around posting on other peoples posts here and there. Today I went ahead and started my Bio and wanted to offically say HI to everyone and put myself out there to meet new people and find some new buddies to help make this board a little more fun and adventurous Wink so if ya want to be friends let me know!!! haha

I am 25 and I'm a RN in the OR and have been for 4 years now. My passion is L&D and neonatal nursing but wasn't able to obtain a job in L&D when i graduated. at this time I'm trying to switch over now which isn't turning out so well But I will keep trying!!! My Hubby and I got married on June 5, 2010 and have been enjoying our married life, which doesn't yet seem much different then our living together before marriage life. haha.

We have just started trying to conceive as of this month. I took my last BCP 9/4 and were going to go ahead and see what happens. I haven't started charting temps or anything, but I have been trying to figure out this CM thing. My hubby says he wants to "see what happens" and "not try" so I'm going with that for right now since we just started. For now we have 2 dogs Dakota- and american eskimo (or spitz) who just turned 9 and Roxy- a pom (said to be full pom but I think she has Chihuahua in here) who is 2 and a total love bug!!

So thats a little about me!! I'm looking forward to getting to know some of you!!

~Jamie.

Re: semi-new.... hello!!

  • Hi Jamie!

I highly recommend charting. I did what you did the first month off BCP's and my body drove me nuts. I had every phantom symptom imaginiable and was a week "late". If I had charted that cycle I would have known what was happening to my body and that I really wasn't late. Once you start taking your temps, along with checking CM, it just becomes like second nature. Anyway, that's just my 2 cents.

    Good luck to you! :)

  • I didn't chart right away either, but looking back I wish I had known about it earlier. It can be a little intimidating at first, but it's totally worth doing. It takes like a minute a day. Smile If you stick with the decision to wait, I still think it'd be worth going to FertilityFriend.com and going through the tutorials. Then you'll be sure to have a full understanding of what you're body does and you'll be a step ahead of the game if you do decide that you'd like to chart next cycle. In either case, welcome and good luck. Hope your stay is short and sweet!
  • Thanks ladies! So I have spent the best part of the last hour on FF looking at things and playing with the charting...I'm on CD 20 should I start charting just for practice or just wait until my next period? Seems like a lot to keep track of  but I guess you are right, once I start it will feel like second nature... I just don't want DH to think i'm going psyco about this TTC stuff since we just started ya know? Thanks again! Yes

  • Welcome!  I don't chart either and am ok with that.  Good luck in this new adventure.
