This is only my second post, and I don't know what the guidelines are for posting in each forum (do you need to post an intro in each section??)
Anyways, I have a couple questions that I'm hoping you all can help me out with.
We just put together our Chicco Cortina Travel System that comes with the Keyfit 30.
1. The sunshade on the car seat is extremely difficult to move up and down. I'm wondering if this is normal, or if you think this is a defect and we should exchange it?
2. I know the car seat comes with the infant insert, or whatever it is called, but I'm wondering if as a newborn, do they need extra head support beyond what is included in the car seat?
Thanks!
Re: Chicco Keyfit 30 users
My sunshade goes up at down very easily -- maybe yours isn't attached properly or just needs to "loosen up" a bit. Practice putting it up and down?
All the padding they need is in the seat -- that's why Chicco has the newborn insert already installed.
this!!!
1. The sunshade on the car seat is extremely difficult to move up and down. I'm wondering if this is normal, or if you think this is a defect and we should exchange it? Ours is stiff, but manageable. It is getting better with time.
2. I know the car seat comes with the infant insert, or whatever it is called, but I'm wondering if as a newborn, do they need extra head support beyond what is included in the car seat? The infant insert is plenty.
I just wanted to add that I LOVE this carseat. I have the Cortina stroller too and really like it. If you have a diaper bag that has stroller clips, definitely use them. Getting in to the basket is hard when the seat on the stroller is laid down (and has to be to put the seat on top). The stroller handle is annoying though. We have to fold it to get it in our trunk, and we have to fold it and unfold it while the stroller is closed. You cannot open or close the stroller while the handle is down.

Challenged Soy and tolerated it.
Our sunshade was stiff at first as well, and has loosened up with time. But definatly not as moveable as Graco carseats.
The newborn insert (use up to 10 pounds) and the head rest should be fine. I bought a seperate head rest and never used it. Both the newborn insert and head rest are what make me love this carseat. A friend has a Graco and has to used rolled up blankets for a head rest and to boost her little one up. Both things seem super annoying to have to use.
