Trying to Get Pregnant

OPK question

Is it common to not get a positive in OPK, but still ovulate? Right now my cm is starting to dry up and my temps are rising, but I haven't gotten a positive OPK.  I only tested once a day in the afternoon, because I am a teacher and I couldn't test at school. I hear it's possible to miss it, but is it common?

Re: OPK question

  • You may have just missed your surge on the OPKs.  Some of us test twice a day to make sure we don't miss the surge on the OPK.

To answer your question, yes you could have still O'd even though you didn't get a + OPK.

This. It's actually very easy to miss your surge, so yes you could have ovulated without getting a + OPK.

  • You could have missed it with the OPK.  That said  I do a test 1st thing in the am & one after lunch.  My test at 7 am this morning was positive, however other months it was the afternoon's test that was positive.  If I didn't do it in the morning as well-I would have missed it. BTW-they are pretty darn accurate IMO.
