My husband and I have been married for 2.5 years and recently ( as in this morning!) decided to try and start conceiving. It's been slow at work so I decided to Google all about trying to get pregnant. I think it was a bad idea...there's the thermometers, charting, cervical mucus, and just an over abundance of information. I had no idea there was such a science to making a baby! I'm feeling really overwhelmed by it all and starting to wonder if we're really ready for a family. I was hoping there's a few other ladies who went through this too and can tell me it's not that complicated! Thanks!

Re: New & feeling overwhelmed
Just take your time and keep reading as much as possible. Lurking here is very informative and can keep you sane.
GL and hopefully your stay on this board is short and sweet!
It can be overwhelming to read about all of those things at first, but just because you read about something doesn't mean you have to try it. You can simply start by just having more sex
. If your periods are more on the regular side then go the more sex route for a couple months, If you aren't successful then you may want to start charting or using OPKs. It isn't difficult at all but it may not be for everyone (only you know your personality and if it will make it stressful for you or not).
Good luck!

Here We Go Again!!
It can be quite overwhelming...it was for me in the beginning. But then i soon came to realize that by me not charting, i was stressing myself out more. I wanted to know that my body was working the way it was supposed too and that my husband and i were timing sex perfectly to up our odds of conceiving. A month into charting it becomes second nature. It's amazing the things you will learn. I suggest signing up to fertilityfriend.com- you can click my ticker. It may seem overwhelming, but knowing what's going on is half the battle
GL and welcome to the board!

this is excellent advice
If it seems overwhelming, just take it one thing at a time! That's what I did. I started with temping, then once I got the hang of that I trying charting my CM, and then once I got that I added in OPKs. Just take it slow, and you'll get it!
Good luck!
