Wall Letters

Can someone please explain to me how you all hang the wooden letters of your child's name on your walls?  I know that sounds stupid, but I want it to look clean, and not see any nails or tacks.  It's a girls name, so the letters will have ribbon attached to the tops of them.

I really appreciate any help!

  • I know this idea may seem like alot of work.  But, you'll have fewer nail holes.  You'll need paper that's a different color from your walls.  Trace each letter onto the paper.  Cut out each letter.  Mark where the hook is on each letter.  Using blue painters tape or masking tape, position the letters on the wall.  Once you decide on a layout, simply nail through the paper into the walls where you've marked the hooks on the paper.  I do this for hanging picture frames in a collage.  It works great!

  • For DD #1 we actually used a little drop of super glue and it worked perfect.  we even removed the letters when we moved and it worked fine.  With DD#2 they had nail hooks in the back to hang the letters.

  • I haven't tried this yet, but I was considering using double-sided sticky tape.
