RE doing blood work on cd21 regardless of dpo

I'm not near ovulation now but he wants blood draw on cd21 anyways (last cycle I didn't even o till day23) he said cd 21 will give us a good enough comparison to what should be vs what is. Sounds to me like he wants to see me have the typical 28 day cycle. Ive always od on the later side (since ive been charting anyways) and had a shorter lp of around 10 days which is what im seeing him for.

    Are you asking if you should get CD21 bloodwork regardless of whether you have O'd or not?

    ETA: like previous PP state; it's a waste of your time and money.  My Dr did do the CD21 b/w but it was truly a waste

    CD21 might be close enough if you O'ed on CD 13 or 15.  If you haven't even O'ed, I'd fight back or get a new doc.  It's going to show you not O'ing when you do, in fact, O.  As a result, you may be prescribed medication/treatments that are far more aggressive than what you need.

    Protest until you are heard or go somewhere else, I'd say.

    Find a new doctor, ASAP. CD21 means nothing, b/w needs to be done after O to confirm accurate hormone levels after O. These levels won't be the same before you O.

    He said to do it on cd 21 regardless. But what if I just do it when I think I'm 7dpo (script doesn't say a specific date)? Then he'd have accurate results for 7 dpo and when I go to discuss results we can talk about it then. I wont see him again until after this blood work. I guess I could call him on cd21 and hopefully talk to him on the phone and tell him what day I o'd if at all. This is the doc my ob sent me too and I know someone else who has used him. I understand what you guys are saying and agree which is why I'm concerned. I usually o between day 17-23

    Also maybe if I do it on cd21 then when I meet him to discuss results I'll finally actually be 7dpo and can have another draw.

    I was so happy to have my Ob/Gyn do any b/w I did it on CD21 which was 5 DPO for me (I have short cycles).

    Yes, you can call them and try to schedule it for when you will be 7DPO. 

    The whole CD21 b/w is assuming you have the perfect 28 day cycle and O on CD14 which is why the other posters are saying get a new Dr. 

    It's up to you if you want to try and get them to see it your way or start from scratch with a new Dr.

    I'm doing the blood draw at a lab not in his office and can just walk in whenever. I understand what everyone is saying which is why I'm concerned.
