Trouble TTC

No Freaking Way

My co-worker just told me she is pregnant.  I am (so far) not really that emotional when people tell me, I am just kind of numb to it and am genuinely happy that is not hard for everyone but she is 41 (will be 42 before baby is born) and just got married in June!

She said it was a total shock and completely unplanned but that her and her husband are thrilled.  I really am happy for her, she is a sweet lady and will be a good mother but  I am 14 years younger than her!  WTF?!?  Sad  Mother nature hates me.

Oh and she asked me when me and my husband were going to start trying because it would be really fun to be pregnant together.

:::Deep breath:::

  • Hi! I'm sorry! Today must be one of those days because one of my co-workers is walking around telling everyone she is pregnant.  A big issue I have with it is that she's only 5 weeks along. Can she at least wait till week 12 or something?

  • I'm sorry hon.  :(  Everything crossed that you WILL be pregnant together!!  ((hugs))

  • So sorry.  I think watching other people get PG may be one of the hardest things about 3TC.  Here's hoping it's your turn to share good news next!

  • Ugh...I am sorry hon...I deal with this alot in my group at work. I am the only one in my group that wants to have more kids and they know this. So it is always a question of " Are you PG yet?"
Cherish yesterday, Live today and always Dream for tomorrow!?
  • Oh honey, I am sooo sorry. Some people just don't get it.

  • (((HUGS))) I just found out my 45-ish coworker (that only works summers) had a baby in July and that's why she didn't work this summer. Totally an uh-oh and she's not married.

  • In my section of the building (refered to as "the horseshoe" because of its shape) there have been 6 births among my co-workers (5 women & the wife of 1 guy) in the past 14 months.  Among about 24 people.  6 of which are post-menopausal.  You'd think with odds like that I'd be one of them, but noooo!

  • Sorry you have to deal with that!

It's usually not too hard to deal with until they say "it would be fun to be pregnant together" uuugggghhh, not knowing how long you've already been trying.

I hope your day gets better!!

  • I'm sorry.  ((BIG HUGS))  I have always been able to roll with the punches so to speak when I have seen others get PG so easy.  However, if you remember my post last week, I found out that my SIL is PG just before I found out that IVF #1 was a BFN.  I am still taking it so hard.  She is a few years older than me, always said she would never have kids, has one ovary and was just married in May.  So last week I find out she is 11 weeks PG.  It hit hard.

I feel like a bad person.  I am hoping I can get over this and be supportive.  But everytime I think about it, I tear up.

Love & luck to my 3TC girls. Congrats to Omega-The boys are here!
If there's one thing I've learned while waiting my turn,
it's that in each life some rain falls but you also get some sun.
After 2 years & 2 losses, our little man arrived 8-2011.
  • Right there with ya.  My friend who is 40 announced her pregnancy the month after their honeymoon, only took them one try.  I have the same dilemma too, she's super nice but it's really frustrating to be around her!
