we got one in the discovery color and i wasn't planning on getting a head support unless we needed one, and i was just going to send DH out to get one before going home. My grandma ended up getting one for us anyway for our shower. I think it's from eddie bauer
The one that comes with the seat is great. Besides, anything added to the seat voids the warranty and could cause injury to LO if there was an accident.

This, but could you clarify this bold below?
MissNikki007:
Are you getting a newborn head support? And if so, which one? Links would be most helpful!
Somehow this TOTALLY slipped my mind.
The KeyFit comes with a newborn insert but the KeyFit does not.
Also, I just looked at the babiesrus webside and it appears that both the Keyfit 30 and the normal Keyfit come with an infant insert. If baby does need additional support, you can roll up recieving blankets and put them along the sides of him/her.

Yeah, I fixed it. Sorry.

Hmmm...what I got in my seat looks different than what's in the photos of the regular KeyFit.

The insert that comes with the Keyfit 30 works really well, even for teeny tiny newborns. DS was 7 lbs. 4 ozs, and never had a problem with a slumpy head. You won't need any additional padding.
Re: If you are getting/have the Chicco KeyFit 30...

I was told that we don't need one so we're not getting one...
It says on the website that the 30 comes with a removable newborn insert. Did yours just not come with one?

Sorry, ladies. Disregard.
I thought it was a little unsupportive looking, too, but I'm sure it's fine.
