Putting away toys

I went through Caleb's toys this morning and packed away some of his "baby" toys. Crying It makes me kind of sad! I probably have a harder time parting with them then he does.

I did that a while ago, but just the really baby stuff, like all the primary color rings, touchy toys, teethers, keys, etc. Before Xmas I am going to put all her walkers, etc away and do a big clean out. It makes me sad but also paranoid if/when we have #2 where all this crap is going to go!

I know there is so much stuff! I was mostly tired of picking certain toys up he never really played with anyway (the ball popper, stacking cups). I was leaving out some of the smaller teethers for Cici's DD, but she is just as happy playing with Caleb's blocks or cars.

What toys are you looking for Jocelyn for Xmas? I'm trying to think of what we should be getting for the next toy stage.

My mom has no goal in life other than to shop for xmas right now and she goes nuts. Last year my niece came down and saw all the gifts and said "santa went overboard" so on my list to her this year is (for now):

Table and Chairs (wood)

Play Kitchen (wood)-my sister bought all the food and pots and pans

Easel/Painting station

Pretend Vacuum

Mr/Mrs. Potato Head

Anything Little People

Anything related to taking care of a baby doll

A few "cutesy" outfits

Elmo DVDs

Books of any kind

We are getting Jocelyn some type of tricycle, (or that may wait until she is 2) and a pillow pet.

Last weekend I was going to put away the ball popper and the stacking cups / rings and what has she played with almost exclusively since then....those things. I really need to make some room in our playroom!

Ive put away his really young stuff and I need to do another clean out and look through it all again before his birthday and christmas! THe only thing I hate is we dont have much storage! Like currently his baby gear like the swing, jumperoo, etc, are taken apart and under his crib. Would that kind of stuff be okay in the attic even if its electronic liek the swing and jumperoo?? it makes me nervous cuz we want ot use the gear for when we have another one. but I need space in my house for older toys!

We put the jumperoo, exersaucer, bouncy seat, play mat and swing in the attic. We took the batteries out and wrapped them in trash bags and taped them up really well. I didn't have anywhere else to store all that!!

I know what you mean. I need to the same thing, but I keep putting it off because then that means that my baby is really growing up.
