Yesterday morning I had a smiley face on my CBE OPK. Around 9 pm last night there was an open circle instead of the smiley face. This morning I had a smiley face again!!
I am still receiving only "high" readings on the CBFM by the way.
Has this ever happened to anyone? If so, do you know why?

I haven't had this happen, but I only test once a day.
When you tested last night had you drank a lot of water before? Maybe it was too diluted to be positive. Or did you not hold your pee for 4 hours are however long you're supposed to? Those are the reasons I can think of as to why your test last night may have been negative.
In any case I'd keep humping if I were you. Good luck!
It's funny because I only test once a day and got my first smiley yesterday morning but just got a circle this morning. I am not sure what is going on. I thought that you should have 2 days of positive OPKs.
Check out my chart. This happened to me earlier in my cycle... around CD 30something. I never actually O'd then, but here I am on CD 65, and I've had 3 days of +OPKs and all signs point to my body gearing up to try to O again.
Earlier in the month, I used the digital OPK with the smileys, but now I'm strictly using the internet cheapies, because they allow me to test a few times a day and not worry about wasting them. For over a week now, I've been testing 3-4 times a day, always at least 4 hours apart. I'm doing this not only so I don't miss my surge, but so I can see how long it actually lasted as well.
My suggestion is to continue testing at least 2 times a day and also get some internet cheapies. I actually find them to be more telling, as you can see when LH starts to enter your system and when it starts to fade, unlike the digital.
Not necessarily; it depends how long your surge lasts. Some people's surges don't last that long.
OP, my guess is your pee was too diluted for the middle test. Keep humping it out. GL!
