Car seats for smaller cars?

So I'm starting to worry about fitting a car seat in DH's car, it won't be our primary car to use with LO, but I would still like for us to be able to drive it as a family. He has a mustang so it is a smaller backseat. Has anyone used an infant car seat and base in a car this size or have any recommendations for a convertible car seat that will fit? TIA!

    Try the Graco sungride and the Chicco key fit.  Both allow you to leave the handle up in the car.  Also try them both with out the base it may safe a little room.  You should be able to try them out at babies r us or a local baby store.  If you dont mind a convertible car seat I can give you a few recs to try but I would try the Infant car seat first because it will be eaiser to get the baby in and out.

    When DS was born, I drove a very small Ford escort.  I used the Graco snugride infant seat and it fit fine in that car.

    I was concerned about this too (DH has a mustang convertable) but my friend's sister's husband has a mustang and they have never had a problem with the carseat for their son.  Just make sure you get it inspected to verify that the carseat is in there properly.

    We used a snugride in both of our small cars with no issues.
