I have been having cramps for a couple of days!! They feel like mestral cramps and some times like i have to have a bm! Are these contractions! Should i be concerned im only 34 weeks!! They dont really hurt that bad!
Nah those aren't contractions. They are more like your body's way of gearing up and getting ready for the real deal though! I've had those since about week 32. Believe me, you'll know when you have a real contraction. They'll wrap around your body and they hurt like cramps times a million.
Are you feeling 'heavy' in the pelvic area too? A couple of weeks ago I had to go to L&D cause I felt real 'heavy' and was having menstural like cramps. And they weren't as bad as you would think contractions are, and were different than 'braxton hicks'. But when they hooked me up to the machines, I WAS having some mild contractions. They had to give me some meds to stop it.
If it gets uncomfortable, call your doctor. I'm glad I went because hours later it got worse and worse (even after taking one of the pills).
I would suggest just keeping an eye on them and time them if they get frequent. When I was having my first baby, I started feeling just like you describe and everyone kept telling me "no it's not contractions, you'll know when you are having real contractions etc..." my cramps just felt like menstrual cramps and didn't really hurt that bad either.....well it turns out I was in labor and it was the real thing!
everybody experiences labor different so trust your "gut" and if they get to be close together like 5 minutes apart I would consider going to the hospital....better safe than sorry. When I finally called the hospital with my mild cramps that were about 2-5 minutes apart they told me to get there asap! By the time I got there I was already dilated to 5 or 6.
Re: Contractions??
It sounds like its your body getting ready for LO to arrive! I would become concerned if the severity increases over time and they become timeable.
