I'm still BF'ing & haven't seen the return of my cycle. I have PCOS as well, so it's kind of a double whammy. My original goal was to BF until LO was 6mo, but as that day nears, I don't know if I'm ready to stop. That being said, we also wanted to keep our LO's close in age & since I have PCOS, it's not quite as easy to be successful in a timely manner. The sooner I stop BF'ing, the sooner we'll be able to see if my cycles will return on their own; if not we move to progesterone to restart & use clomid again (and hope we're as lucky w/ it this time as the 1st). I wish I didn't feel so torn between the two.

Is it the EBF that you want that gives you that time with her, or is it just the fact that you want her to be on breastmilk for as long as possible?
This may be a stupid suggestion if you've already considered it, but forgive me. What about pumping and freezing as much as you can so you have that back up breast milk so you can meet your goal, while still TTC for baby #2?
Replace clomid with Femara and you just wrote my post.
I am sad with stopping BF because I know its good for DS but I have a large stash and im happy I can make it 6 month s because I thought I would be done before I started. I am going to start the weaning process in the next couple of weeks and meeting with OB at the 6 month mark. I am not planning on AF starting on its own so im just jumping right in and going to talk to OB right away.

Besides the POAS this is exactly why I weened both girls. Alex was 10.5 mo and Taylor was 14 mo. I also had a m/c after weening both - so be careful getting PG right after, even though your cycles may return, your progesterone levels may be too low to carry the PG. GL!
