3rd Trimester

Has anyone ever heard of or used the C Section Recovery Kit?

Hello everyone,

I am getting a scheduled c section in 3 weeks on October 18th.  Not really my ideal birth plan (medically nessesery due to a chronic condition I suffer from) but it is what it is.  I came across this website if you google c section recovery kit you will be able to pull it up.  It is a binder and belt and other things that you can get to make recovering/healing easier.  It does make sense that binding may give you some support in lifting your LO and getting up and around.  Has anyone used this or know someone that has?

I am most def going to order it.  I figure what do I have to lose?  My only issue is what size to get.  They say to measure 2" below your belly button and then subract 3-5inches when you are 8-9 months along. I am thinking with the way I am measuring getting the small but I don't know.....

Thank in advance for any respondes I apprecaite it.

  • i did not use one for my scheduled c-section the first time.  it sounds like a belly bandit or whatever that is.

I would not have needed it.  i had no problems lifting the baby at all.  I had no problems getting around.  in fact, something  tight around my incision would have probably just hurt or been uncomfortable the first few weeks.

This.  I had a c/s with DD and my recovery was a breeze.  The day I got home from the hospital I was able to do most of my regular activities and had no issues picking up dd.  I think it's a waste of money, just imo.

  • Hello,

Yes I tried to change it I am not able......Why do you think that I will be harassed now or something??  lol

  • Thank you opinions are what I am looking for Smile!

I know that some hospitals give you a binder anyway......I don't know I am just really nervous about this.  It seems that some say "Oh it was a breeze I recovered so easy" and some say "It was the most painful recovery ever" I know everyone is different though!  Hope for the best I guess....Thanks again..

my recovery wasn't such a breeze but i just took it slow and stayed on top of the pain killers. and its true when they tell you it gets better everyday because it does.

and i would recommend the boppy pillow because for me it was a lifesaver when it was time to feed ds or just holding him in general for those first few days. the pillow held all of ds weight while i was feeding him, so it was less pressure on my stomach and incision.

    lots of luck to you!

  •  I bought one for my c-section as well it looked more substantial than the belly bandit.

I ended up having to order their largest size because I'm a big girl, but if you are unsure on sizing I would recommend that you call them.  Once you order it and open it you can't return it so getting the correct size is important.
