Baby Shower Was A Hoot!

Can anybody believe that Nolan stayed put for the baby shower? Having been told that he would be here any day, we were sure that the little stinker would either arrive before the shower or make some sort of dramatic entrance the day of. Nope - he snuggled up tight and let us enjoy the day. Thank you son!

Girls, our co-ed shower was a blast!! We received so many special, wonderfully made quilts and other cute personalized items like clothing. About 70% of the crowd stuck to the registry and we got most of the basics that we needed, as well as a few big ticket items like our awesome jogger/stroller/travel system thing that has way more bells and whistles (including IPod player) than we need.

I was feeling pretty bummed this week because my mom called to tell me that she wouldn't be able to make it. She and my dad live in Texas and my dad has been sick so she told me that she needed to stay with him. Well, imagine my complete shock and surprise when she walked into our shower!!! I was a big mess of waterworks but didn't give a single care about shedding some tears. I was soooo glad to see and hug my mom! It has been 11 months since we've seen each other and now I get her for a few days!!

Our shower was owl themed, same as N's nursery (PIPs coming soon). I learned to sew last week and decided to make all of the owl centerpieces, along with the frames. Lots of fun! I didn't upload all of the pictures, as you have better things to do with your day but I did make sure to include a few pictures of the whole party, a few pictures of games, a few pictures of opening presents and pictures with the family. The pictures of me in a yellow shirt with a beautiful blond babe in a blue shirt were taken today - me and mom Big Smile

Super, super cute! We did an owl theme too! : )) Love it! I wanna see pics of his room soon! So glad he's still cooking away- and I'm glad you got so many wonderful gifts. We did too- what a huge blessing, huh? Awesome shower!

I was just admiring your pictures as well!! Yep - the gifts are awesome!! But the company and fellowship is even better!! It was really nice to have everybody in the same place at the same time! I will post pictures of the nursery as soon as we finish.

Yarn Game: Everybody had to guess how big around I am, cutting yarn to the size they were predicting. Fun game!! I kept the yarn that went around my belly to frame in Nolan's room. I also kept a few of the strands that were too small - you know, for after-baby-body inspiration. Wink

Absolutely- it's amazing the love and support that is going out to our new baby- and she's not even here yet! It's kind of overwhelming!! I'll be waiting for the nursery pics- I bet it's going to be wonderful!!
