early last night i posted about horrible back pain from a pulled muscle. i started to have really bad spasms and could barely get around. i went to the ER to see if there was anything that could be done. they took urine and blood to rule things out and gave me a morphine drip, which took the edge off.
then for precautionary measures sent me upstairs for a NST. turns out i was having contractions and didnt even know - some as close as 5 minutes apart - though they were mild. not sure if that had any relation to the muscle issue. also, i was 1cm dilated. nurse seemed a bit concerned. they gave me two doses of meds to stop the contraction since the first dose didnt stop them.
i was not at my regular hospital last night because i live 45 minutes away - so i went to the closest one since i didnt think it was baby related and obviously because i was in pain and it was closer. im going to call my OB today to follow up. they also gave me vicoden for the pain - but i wont take it until i talk to my doc. i'd rather not take it at all but honestly im in so much pain i might be willing to take half a dose - even to sleep at night...
i have no idea what happens from here. waiting for my docs office to open at 9. are mild contractions and 1cm considered pre-term labor? im supposed to work until 38 weeks. also, has anyone else taken pain killers during pregnancy?
Re: my night in the hospital (and a question)
