1st Cycle off BC.. no period yet?

Just want to know if anyone else had a really long cycle after getting off birth control? I was on BC for so long that I don't know my average cycle length. But this first cycle off BC is already 34 days. Is this normal?

    Yeah...your first cycle could be really long. Your body is trying to figure out what to do since it is essencially "on its own." I know that my guts hurt and ached for about 3 months after coming off BC while my body figured out what it was doing. Get yourself a copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility (TCOYF) and start charting. It will help...trust me!

    Hey! I too am on my first cycle off of BC which I have been on for 7 years. Right now i'm on day 20.. so i'm  not where u are yet, but if it happens I would expect it, your body is trying to adjust and figure out what its doing and all that fun stuff!! I wouldn't be too concerned just yet. did you take a test? it could be a possibility you never know. GL to you!! See you around the boards

    Hehe this is my second cyle off BC and I haven't even ovulated yet. It's very common and very annoying

    Very normal. I have stopped BCP too and haven't yet gotten a period. I'm on day 50. It can take a while for your body to regulate. The general rule here is to test once a week until you get a positive or your period, and if you get to CD 60 without either call you doctor.  Hang in there!

    It can take a while for your body to regulate when you get off of hormonal birth control, and everyone is different. 

    My first cycle off of BC was 36 days, and I am fairly certain I ovulated on day 24.  Second cycle was 32 days, ovulation on day 20.  Third cycle was 46 days and anovulatory.

    My first month off BCPs went like this: last BCP, 5 days later AF, 12 day "period", and that cycle lasted 45 days before I got AF on my own.

    I would expect longer cycles if you're just coming off the pill.

    I hit day 45 last week (went off the pill in August after 5 years of being on it).  My Dr. prescribes Provera after 45 (and I called right on day 45 and didn't know that...I figured they would probably just do 60 like everyone here).  I'm so ready to get this going so I'm on day 4 of Provera...hopefully AF will be somewhat normal here on out :)  GL to you!
