slideshow software for windows/web

hi ladies - for those of you that did a slideshow for your LO's 1st bday, what software/ web site did you use?

 we have massive amounts of photos and videos (hd & non hd) that we would like to get the highlights into a slideshow to play at his first birthday...i'm struggling with what to use (for our wedding, we went with powerpoint but that was five years ago so i'm hoping technology has evolved since then =) )

    I am using a program that came with my computer...Windows Live Movie Maker. It's really easy to use...you can add pics/videos, music, transitions, animations...I'm really happy with the way the video is coming out.
