Smoking & breastfeeding

I'm not smoking. But I do wonder if I did the occasional hookah or black & mild (old habit) what would the affects be on my supply? I've had the passing urge but haven't done it yet because of the unknown consequences. TIA

Don't do it. I don't know about the effects of BM but you know the effects on you. And smoking near a baby increases the risk of SIDS. Now is a good time to quit for good.

Definitely good advice. But just to clarify, I would never smoke around LO. Ever.

A lot of those chemicals from smoking enter your body and your breast milk and get to LO. They can cause a lot of long term problems...it really isn't worth it.

Unless you would feel comfortable putting a cigarette or hooka or whatever in your LO's mouth you shouldn't even be around smoke, let alone putting it in your body.

I think I read somewhere that third hand smoke can cause SIDS too.

Not a fan of smoking while breastfeeding....sorry. 3rd hand smoke and all of the other chemicals traveling around in your system does not seem worth it to me.
