Anybody have any advice? I suppose it's a topic I haven't really read a lot about. I'm looking for a gentle weaning process - DS has been EBF since day 1 and he LOOOOOVES it. For our lives, I think it will be time to wean at 1 year old (although I'm open to keeping 1 or 2 sessions as long as they are NOT during the night!) for a few more months if it feels right. Is that even possible? To *mostly* wean?
DS will be 11 months old next week and I'm already nervous and dreading this!

I would definitely start with night weaning- we night weaned sometime before a year (I don't remember exactly when, it was a sleep deprived blur) and it was fine.
Actually though, I would not suggest replacing a nursing session with cuddles.... I know Emmy would be MAD if she wanted to nurse and I tried to just snuggle. She's fine if I offer her a snack in the high chair, take her outside, distract her in some way.... but snuggle? No, if I'm going to snuggle, I'd better be willing to nurse.
