This weekend Dh and I went to a baby safefy class and they suggested using a co-sleeper or a bassinet during the first 6 months of life. DH and I were planning on having LO sleep in his own room from the beginning (which is next to ours). They suggest it because they said that noises that parents make in the middle of the night, fans, tv, etc. help to keep the baby from going into a deep deep sleep and can help to prevent SIDS.
We were planning on using the ceiling fan in LO's room and now maybe a noise maker. My question is who of you are planning having LO sleep in the same room as you?

I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.

We have an Arms Reach mini co-sleeper that we used with DD and will re-use with DS. It is hooked right up next to the bed.
With DD we used it for the first 6-8 weeks or so. It was nice having her right there and being able to feed her. We moved her earlier than we anticipated because she slept a TON better in her crib. She has a cieling fan in her nursery and we used (and still use) a sound machine.
