cold sores

The stress and the fever I developed during my hospital stay gave me 3 beautiful cold sores. I need help getting rid of them by Friday for our wedding. (We got married in a court house a few months ago because we just couldn't wait)

    Not to mention, I have bruises and track lines all over my arms from my veins blowing.

    Sounds a little strange and I didn't believe my husband when he told me to try this, but try rubbing alcohol put on with a q-tip.  I've gotten cold sores since I was little and nothing ever seemed to work, but this really does.  It hurts a little, but it dries them up and they disappear within a couple days.

    Ask your doctor if Acyclovir (sp? It's pronounced A-sick-la-veer) is safe to take while pregnant.  If it is, get a quick prescription and it'll be gone within 72 hours.  I've had cold sores my whole life and this is always my go to cure.  Not sure if you can use it while preggo though.

    I've only tried Abreva but it gave me an allergic reaction so talk to your Dr.. As for your wedding you are going to have so much fun! Enjoy it! Also, I had a big bruise on my forearm from an acupuncture needle for my wedding and the guy that did my makeup was able to cover it up, you can't even see it in the pictures. I know one bruise is different then what you had to deal with but it's worth a try.

    Most of the really bad bruises are on the insides of my arms. The ones on the outside are all smaller than a quarter. If I cover the with makeup, won't it rub off on my dress?

    This.  Cold sores suck so much!  I also found that used rubbing alcohol on a q tip will make the healing process faster.  I also use Abreva, and Neosporin, but the alcohol works best.

    Gosh I don't know the names of them but there's these little sticks in a clear tube that sort of look like chalk. You place it on the cold sore for like a minute and it helps heal them so fast! GL and Congratulations on your big day!

    I was lucky enough to get pityriasis rosea the week of my wedding.  I itched like a crazy woman and was COVERED in bright red dots.  We ended up using an entire bottle of conceiler on my chest to hide them.  It didn't cover them completely because when I got hot they'd turn brighter but rubbing off wasn't an issue.  I wore a bolero for the ceremony which is still white, not makeup colored lol, just be sure you're completely dry and power set first.
