have you started buying stuff for your lo yet ? I havent gotten anything yet my dh keeps saying its to early. plus I have no idea what I should be getting anyways, but my sil has decided that its a good idea to keep telling me how far behind I am and Iam never going to be ready if I dont start now.

So if you have been slowly buying stuff , what have you been getting ? are you getting diapers or waiting for lo to get here?

We got a crib and a pack-n-play. And my mom has been giving us clothes. As much as I'm dying to shop for baby stuff, we are going to try and hold out for our baby showers.

Having picked out all the fabric today and had it bought for the nursery I'm finally starting to seriously look at stuff. We are just now starting to look... I know we'll get on the ball eventually.

i haven't yet. i am going to wait til after 20 weeks. i think there'll be plenty of time. plus, a lot of stuff people say you "need" you won't use until the LO is a few months old at least. i don't think i will run out of time.

I have tons of stuff from my DS so I only have about 10 or so things to buy. I will start this month after we find out the gender.

We bought a book for baby a few weeks ago. We spent about 10 minutes in B&N trying to decide if it was too early or not. We decided to go for it. We'll be more liberal with buying stuff after 20 weeks if everything is still going good. When we were at the mall yesterday, we saw "star wars" build a bears. Dh said he'll be there Nov. 2 (the day after our big u/s) getting a little star wars bear for our lo. He's such a nerd!

We're waiting on most things until we know the gender and then even so we'll be waiting until after the baby shower for the big stuff since this is our first and the first on my side of the family, we're sure to get a decent amount (as they've already told me they've bought some stuff and have been begging me to make a registry since we told them at 6 weeks! lol).

Most of ours are gifts. A diaper bag I wanted really bad, bibs, and formula.

I haven't really bought anything yet. I bought some parenting books today, but that's more for me than the baby. Once we find out the gender I'll buy more stuff and start really planning the nursery. I'll probably hold off on most stuff until after the shower. I have very generous family and friends (we had an awesome wedding shower!)

I have bought some little things, like towels, receiving blankets, onesies, socks. Mainly just to look at them. Smile

We are waiting until 20 weeks when we have our ultrasound that tells us what they are to buy other stuff and work on the nursery. But my mom and I did go look at fabric for the nursery yesterday to get some ideas.

I have been hitting up every clearance rack I find for gender neutral clothes, but so far only have denim overalls ($1) and two pairs of blue pants ($2) each. I am resisting the temptation until after 10/19 (Lo's anatomy scan.) Plus I have so much from dd that what I really can't wait for is to go through the attic!

We have not bought anything yet. We have a level II ultrasound tomorrow so we are hoping to find out the gender. I'm dying to buy something! LOL! We will probably wait to buy many things since this is our first and the first grandbaby on both sides. (Plus, my parents are divorced, so we'll be having 2 baby showers just from my parents side of the family) My MIL is buying us the crib.

I've read many posts here on the bump about diapers. I think we are going to just start buying giftcards to Target or Walmart instead of stocking up on diapers. I'm sure we will get some at the babyshowers and I don't want a huge stock on a single size and not use them.

I've bought a few books but nothing for the baby. I am just paranoid I guess. I won't let anyone buy anything for me either. Until I know that the baby is ok, I won't buy anything. I/m just weird that way.

nope, haven't bought a thing yet. we still haven't told anyone about the baby yet, and i expect as soon as we get back to the states, our family and friends will start shopping for us and my grandma will start knitting. should be fun.

We made our first purchases for baby last week on vacation. We got a t-shirt, jumper, down jacket and a bib. It was so fun and exciting to buy things for him/her! But I don't really plan on getting anything else anytime soon...it was just vacation and outlet shopping that got me. I'll probably get more clothes and things once we find out the gender.

We're going to start stocking up in diapers in the third tri.

We bought the baby swing just cuz we found one we liked that isn't available where we registered. The rest of the things we will wait to buy until after the shower.

I would wait to buy diapers. You will get a lot at your shower (I would register for different sizes.) Also DD had such bad diaper rash the first few months we ended up CD'ing exclusively till she was 6 mos and were only able to return one of the boxes I hadn't opened yet ( I ended up giving a ton away!). After that she could only wear Pampers or Target brand. Huggies, Wal-mart, Luvs and Kirklands all gave her a rash. My neice can't wear Pampers b/c they give Her a rash! Some babies need different brands.

I got a pack'n'play at a garage sale because it was a GREAT deal, I've gotten a few little gender neutral outfits (2 yesterday that DH picked out) and a huge box of wipes. I don't want to get much because I'm hoping we get things for our showers. But we're gonna be getting the furniture soon i think.

If your sil thinks you're behind, then she'd think I'm really really behind. I'm 17 weeks, and all I have gotten are maternity clothes for me. We've looked online at baby furniture, but we're waiting until Oct. 14, when we find out boy or girl, to start buying things.

I bought a used jogging stroller and a friend of a friend is selling me her pack n play and giving me a changing table. other than that waiting till we find out the gender unless its a deal that I can't pass up.

I've been watching the sales and picking up a few things here and there for several weeks now. We won't be finding out the sex or having a baby shower before baby arrives, so we need to get some basics. We have a stroller, crib and dresser (on order), mattress pad, change pad, bath tub, a bunch of onesies and footed sleepers, wash clothes and hooded towels, bottles.

We are not finding out the baby's gender, so there is no need to wait until after the 20 week mark. We started our registry last weekend at Baby's R Us. We already ordered the crib, dresser, and glider because of a sale.

Do not listen to your SIL, you must do what feels right for you and your husband.
