Re: ttc after a year appointment
I'm sorry that I don't have any advice for you but I know that there are a bunch of ladies on this board who probably do - I just wanted to say hello and welcome. Also, if you post this same question on the trouble trying to conceive board, I am sure you will receive a bunch of helpful answers.
Good luck with your appointment.
Your obgyn might run some blood work (CD3: estrogen, FSH, LH, TSH, prolactin and 7DPO progesterone) and recommend some tests (Sperm analysis for your husband and an HSG). He/she might also ask to see your charts (BBT, CM, OPKs, etc) to get an idea about your cycles.
The chances are you will be referred to an R.E. They are better equipped to diagnose/treat infertility.
Good luck with your appointment.

I went after 6 months bc I have specific concerns (length/quantity of AF), but I don't think you need to do anything to prepare. If you've been charting, you might just have the information on your cycles with you to discuss (are you showing signs of ovulating, e.g. OPK+, temp spike, AF), how long are your cycles, etc.
As for what to expect, my obgyn did a physical exam (just like your annual) and then had blood taken to test for thyroid issues and a few other things. Then she gave me the information to schedule more bloodwork on CD3 (some girls on here have it done at CD2) and an ultrasound the week following AF. She also gave me the name of a clinic to have CH do a sperm analysis.
Hope that helps! I wasn't happy that I had to go, but I was relieved to get the opportunity to see if anything was wrong so we could address it. Good luck!
I think they all do things differently. I just told my doctor that it had been a year--it happened to coincide with my annual.
I am starting with an HSG test on CD8 (this Tuesday) and progesterone test (I think that is what the nurse said on the phone) about CD21, I believe. She has not ordered any blood tests yet. She has also given the orders for DH to do an SA--we're just waiting on him to contact his insurance (we have separate insurance) to check on coverage/what he needs to do.
I've been a mix of emotions since I had to make the call to get the tests going (waited out cycle 12 after my appointment). It is scary to be in this place, but good to know we're hopefully going to start getting some answers. Good luck to you!
