thoughts on fisher price papasan cradle swing?

I like that you can plug it in instead of using batteries, and that it lights up.  Does anyone have it and can comment?  It's a lot cheaper at Walmart but there are only two styles to choose from (Periwinkle and Butterfly Garden).  I like the Butterfly Garden but if we have another kid and end up with a boy it is very girlie...not that a baby cares, but my DH might.  lol

  • I got the periwinkle since it's closer to neutral.

It was noisy at first, but once we put some weight in the swing it got a lot quieter.

  • yeah I have read in a lot of the reviews that it can be noisy, but some of the people thought that was mainly when the canopy wasn't secured on tightly. I am torn between this one and the Little Lamb.  I wish the Lamb swing plugged in to the wall.

We have the lamb swing and used it non stop for about 10 months and only changed the batteries once!   Don't get hung up on batteries vs plug - the batteries lasted forever!

Ditto this.  The battery vs. plug argument is stupid IMO.  We have the older FP Nature Papasan Swing and the batteries really lasted quite a while.  Plus I liked that I could put the swing anywhere in the room- wasn't tied to an outlet.  Also, just a little bit of advice- set aside $50 and go to Sams/Costco/BJ's and stock up on batteries in all different sizes.  You will be amazed at how many you go through that first year for other products BESIDES the swing!

  • I would buy either one! this cradle swing is such a nice product!!! the side to side swinging motion is so much more calming for a baby.. if i couldn't have found one with the motion i wasn't going to buy a swing at all until the child was much older.. for infants i feel the standard swinging motion is too overwelming for their sensory systems.. I have an older model, the fisher price nature
  • I have the fisher price papasan Little Lamb and it is awesome.  I used it for my 20 months old boy and my newborn girl is using it.  It is a lifesaver and the kids love it.  It does take batteries but only 4 D and so worth it.  Also very easy to take apart and travel or whatever.  Has different noises and swings back and forth and side to side and lays down and up.

I agree. We have used ours non stop. I am guessing 4-6 hours a day and still have no battery issues. I love love love the Little Lamb swing. DD is asleep in it right now...and slept through the night in it last night too. (By accident. I laid down next to her, waiting for her to wake up to eat...and she did not wake up til 6am. Oops.)

  • good feedback, I think I am going with the lamb after all, I like that it is gender neutral.  Thanks!
