OB/GYN delivering out of Hackensack?

Hi Everyone!

 Just found out I'm expecting. Unfortunately, my doctor no longer delivers babies, so it is time to find a new one. I would really like to deliver at Hackensack University Medical Center. Does anyone have any recommendations for doctors who deliver there?

Thanks for any suggestions! This is all quite new to me.

    Congrats!! I just found out I was preggo on 8-17 Im 6 weeks! I also want to deliver at Hackensack(they are great) this is my first we are so excited! I go to Dr. Afriye Amerson(shes a woman) I love her shes so great and extremely helpful in explaing everything that will be happening! She have me great pregnancy materials etc. Shes in River Edge heres her website https://www.afriye.com/  Good Luck!

    Thank you for the information! I am going to look into her. According to the calculators, I am just 5 weeks today. It is still so new...hasn't really set in yet.

    I go to Dr. Collado who delivers out of Hackensack and is also located on Overlook Ave. in Hackensack (about a block from the hospital).  I've been going to her for about 5 years now and I really like her.  She works with a nurse practitioner who is also very nice.  The office number is 201-342-1191 in case you are interested.

    My ob/gyn is Dr. Gerardis her office is located right in HUMC.  She is really great!

    Hi soontobemrsdavis

     Just wondering if you have had any experiences with Dr. Schwartz at Dr. Gerardis's office - he really felt off to me - laughed at me when I told him I wanted to give birth w/o and epidural.   Do you know if there is anyway to request that he not attend the birth, even if he is on duty?
