Bladder infection (TMI maybe?)

Dr checked my urine and asked me if it hurts when I pee at my last appt. I told him no because at the time it didn't so he sent off my urine to be tested again for bladder infection.He said he would call me if it came back positive, Well my next appt is tuesday and I never heard from him so I figured it was negative. Well NOW it hurts after I pee, im fine before and during but after i get a sharp pain in my bladder.Does this sound like a bladder infection? and if so, wouldn't the last test have shown it or am i just being paranoid?

    Sounds like it could be.  I had this around 15 wks.  Nothing showed in the dip test they did at the office or at the lab but they did a 72 hr culture and that's what confirmed the infection.  Good luck!

    can you tell me what a 72 hr culture is and how they perform it? i dont think ive ever heard of it. thank you=)

    Basically they just see if any bacteria grows over a 72 hr time span.  The lab does it and sends the results to the OB office and also lets them know what kind of UTI it is (the cause) so that they know what the best antibiotic treatment is. 

    I kept telling my OB office that I had a UTI but they wouldn't prescribe anything until they knew for sure.
